Taking flight over Turks and Caicos Islands with a drone

turks-and-caicos-drone-blog.jpg

Turks and Caicos Islands is an amazing place to get some much needed rest and relaxation, but it's also an incredible place to fly a drone.

I took a relatively spontaneous trip there just before a second nor'easter slammed into New York City for the second time in less than a week. The timing couldn't have been better.

My gadget of choice for the adventure: a drone. I recently purchased the DJI Mavic Pro and wanted to set it free. This island was the perfect place for it, because drone laws are very relaxed -- respect people's privacy and be smart with it.

I blew through four batteries on my first flight. And I didn't crash it. I'd call that a success.

But I think I also got some great footage, even considering I'm an amateur at piloting a drone.

Check out the video I shot below, which is in 4K. The sound you hear is actually sound from the beach where I shot the video -- Long Bay Beach on the south side of the island.

This is 4K drone footage of the beach on the south side of the northeast end of Turks and Caicos main island -- Providenciales. The beach is Long Bay Beach, located near The Shore Club resort. It was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro.

I have since taken the drone on a couple more flights. Look for some more video soon!
